wetland succession.

wildfires and prescribed burns in interior Alaska •. He mentioned that a
large number of Fairbanks residents harvest . ~lueberries in burns
accessible by roado He regretted that no quantit .. \tive measurements of
o blueberry crops had been made before and after exti.~~imental prescribed
burns he has participated in. Dr. Viereck also d:i.\scussed burning of
veg~tated wetlands, in particular the Minto Flats burn and the Tanana
Flats Blair Lakes fire. He stated that wetland areas often regenerate
rapidly to the same type of vegetation.
