Apparently, animals are waiting for conditions to improve before crossing. However, it is hard to say this will always hapoen. Often animals will plunge on ahead jnto hazardous crossings. Concerning_ a;limals crossing ice sheets; Hemming bas observed caribo11 crossing aufeis on Watana IJake which is near the project. The animals apparently had no fear of the sljppery surface and ventured out, Animals apparently slid down the aufeis formations until they could get solid footing. ,
