Northern Lights Blvd Anchorage, AK 99503 Re: Unalakleet Bulk Fuel Upgrades Change Request No. 1 UOSS, Inc. Value Engineering SRTU Submittal Dear Mr. Bryan Carey: The attached Hankal Construction Inc. and vendor UOSS, Inc. value engineering proposal offers the following change request for the telemetry system at Unalakleet Bulk Fuel Upgrades project. The vendor UOSS, Inc. proposes to change the original design of the telemetry system from a multiple point-to-point system to a single point-to-point system. According to UOSS, Inc value engineering, a pair of point-to-point SRTU units would be provided in lieu of an EZ-MTU and an SRTU as specified, which would result in a cost saving to the owner of $1,602.00. After careful reviewing of the value engineering proposal, LCMF supports the proposed change request and finds it completely adequate for this particular project. As the dollars associated with this proposal are small, we recommend addressing it in a subsequent change order to minimize costs. Architecture Please, let us know if this proposal meets with your approval or not and we will direct the contractor accordingly. The SRTU has been designed fIVM thebround up to 5t small to medium I/O requirernents. It is a board level product that can be integrated into new designs, as well as an ideal upgrade for out of date existing RTUs. Designed with, simplicity in mind, the SRTU is based on a single chip 8-bit micropro- cessor, and uses the latest in wafer scale integration technology to minimize the part count, increasing reliability. The SRTU is designed as an industrial product with industrial temperature rated parts. It has two KS-232JR5-485 communication ports. One port can be interfaced to virtually any radio, and has configurable baud rates, and .key on / key off de- lays. The other port is for configuration, and simple diagnostics. It has 6 digital inputs, 2 pulse inputs (with built-in 32 bit accumulator), 6 digital outputs, (2 are 12 amp relays), and 2 each 12-bit analog in- puts. An optional. expansion module adds 16 digital inputs, 16 digital outputs, 4 12-bit analog inputs, and 4 1 ?-bit analog outputs.
