DESCRIPTION OF REQUEST:
UVEC plant personal report that the UVEC spill response contingency
storage tank indicated on the drawings is suspect of having a bad
bottom. Extreme rust and scabbing conditions are apparent. It is
also reported that the tank contains and amount of sludge presumably
removed from the UVEC tanks at the last cleaning. The tank is
approximately 8'-10" CD x 121h. There is 21" of sludge in the tank
(±80Q gal) HCI does not think the tank should be relocated outside a
containment area in this condition. Please advise.
