Jeff — BMT Painter Lonnie — BMT Shop Superintendent INSPECTOR'S NARRATIVE: A pre -construction meeting was held this morning onsite to establish inspection guidelines and scheduling. It was decided that CCC would coordinate with Bob Barnhart for scheduling inspections based on production schedules. Following the pre -construction meeting, we proceeded to the paint shop where we met Jeff and Lonnie. The bottom halves of tanks #1 & #2 and the top of tank #1 had been blasted clean this morning. A visual inspection for the cleanliness to meet the standard for SSPC — SP10 as specified. We did note some weld spatter that had not been removed as specified. This was pointed out to Jeff. One surface profile measurement was made on each piece with the following results: Tank # bottom 2.2 mils; Tank #1 top 2.1 mils; Tank #2 bottom 2.3 mils. The specifications call for 1.5 to 2.5 mils. The painter was preparing to apply the Devoe 302H Primer, which will be inspected tomorrow morning. The following photo shows the pieces inspected .this morning: Three pieces ready for priming. Jeff — BMT Painter INSPECTOR'S NARRATIVE: Upon arrival this morning, CCC found Tank #1 Top & Bottom as well as Tank #2 Bottom had all received the specified primer. A visual inspection found the application to appear uniform and void of any runs and sags. Random dry film thickness measurements were made using a properly calibrated Positector 6000, Dry Film Thickness Gauge. The average thickness was measured to be 4.2 mils. This meets the specified thickness of 3.0 to 4.0 mils DFT. The painters were preparing to apply the intermediate coat by stripe coating the sharp edges and welds. No discrepancies were noted during this inspection. The following photo shows the pieces inspected this morning: Three pieces primed with 302H. Unalakleet Bulk Fuel Upgrade Report #2 Page 2 of 2.
