As this work moves forward, AEA encourages parties to build on the information and recommendations contained in the SEIRP. To facilitate this effort, AEA offers the attached "Next Steps" document for consideration. The Next Steps document is intended to highlight: 1. AEA's ongoing efforts to assist with the development of regional energy efficiency programs; 2. The desire to standardize available information on future Southeast hydroelectric projects; 3. The need to continue to assess possible economic activity that could support an expanded Southeast electric transmission system; 4. Possible ways to supply alternatives for space heating needs without exhausting Southeast's hydroelectric capacity; and 5. AEA's increased ability to assist communities that intend to utilize existing state energy programs. AEA encourages your thought and input as we continue this important effort. Sincerely, ALASKA ENERGY AUTHORITY Sara Fisher -Goad Executive Director akenergyauthority.org 813 West Northern Lights Boulevard Anchorage, Alaska 99503 T 907.771.3000 Toll Free (Alaska Only) 888 300.8534 F 907.771.3044
