Project Activities Completed:
Contractual agreements for completing work under the grant agreement have been
completed. A request for grant extension has been submitted by the VVC; All paper
work on the grant is up to date at this time.
A reconnaissance review of the village systems was completed in August 2010, all
necessary data was collected to develop a conceptual design and feasibility model
for Venetie. A heat capture system from the generators is in place but not working at
this time. It was discovered in March 2011 that a new clinic is to be built across from
the Washeteria and water system. This has been added into the modeling process.
A review forest conditions was also conducted in August 2010; this was a second
review of the potential for forest utilization in and around the village of Venetie.
Forests are adequate for supportind, a biomass program in Venetie.
A village council meeting was held in conjunction with a community meeting where
the biomass project was discussed in detail, the council fully endorsed the project.

First draft of the modeling process has just been completed. This will be shared with
the community and additional reports will be developed based on this information.
Existing or Potential Problems.
Due to personnel turnover within the Village Council, a period of time existed without
a champion for the project in the village. This situation was corrected when the
original project champion Eddie Frank; has returned to working for the council after
an eye injury. He is now fully supporting the project and is one of the primary wood
harvesters in the village. Because of delays due to previous turnover another short
extension maybe necessary.

2) Schematic design along with technical data and performance data on the
proposed wood burning technology

4) This is the preliminary output from the boiler modeling process for several
various scenarios. These are for stick -fired garn boilers in conjunction with heat
capture from both the village powerhouse and for the school generator that is
run quite a bit during summer. Details will be developed and discussed in the
draft report. However, based on this initial output, all scenarios are financially
feasible.
