Regular Meeting - MEETING MINUTES
Friday, February 2, 2018 in Anchorage, Alaska
1. CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Mark Johnston called the meeting of the Intertie Management Committee to order on
February 2, 2018 at 9:31 a.m.
2. ROLL CALL FOR COMMITTEE MEMBERS

4. AGENDA APPROVAL
MOTION: Mr. Borgeson made a motion to approve the agenda. Motion was seconded by Mr.
Wick. Mr. Wick requested to add to the agenda a discussion on establishment of a cyber-security
subcommittee. The motion passed unanimously.
The topic was added as 7C.
5. PUBLIC COMMENTS
None
6. APPROVAL OF PRIOR MINUTES – Sept 29, 2017; Oct. 10, 2017
MOTION: Mr. Izzo made a motion to approve the minutes of Sept. 29 and Oct. 10, 2017. Motion
was seconded by Mr. Wick. The motion passed unanimously.
7. NEW BUSINESS
A. Douglas Substation Lease Agreement
Mr. Warren presented the lease agreement between MEA and AEA for the Douglas substation that
was recently signed.
B. Douglas Substation Update
Mr. Jenkins gave a brief update on the project that is almost complete. He provided a punch list
items still outstanding. A flashover occurred during switching and some damage was noted on two
voltage insulators. MEA is investigating the event.
C. Establish a Cyber Security Subcommittee
Mr. Wick presented a draft resolution to form a new IMC subcommittee for cyber security to meet
requirements with the RCA. He feels the IMC is the best avenue as it can be given a budget. Mr.
Foutz requested that the City of Seward participate even though they do not belong to the IMC.
