(b) The amount necessary, estimated to be $23,000,000, is appropriated from the 3
general fund to the Alaska Energy Authority for payment of power cost equalization for the 4
fiscal year ending June 30, 2009. 5
* Sec. 3. DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND SOCIAL SERVICES. The amount 6
necessary, estimated to be $1,900,000, is appropriated from the general fund to the 7
Department of Health and Social Services, division of public assistance, to implement 8
provisions of the Alaska resource rebate program relating to continued eligibility for certain 9
assistance programs and veterans' benefits and to pay for related administrative costs for the 10
fiscal year ending June 30, 2009. 11
* Sec. 4. ALASKA HOUSING FINANCE CORPORATION. The sum of $60,000,000 is 12
appropriated from the general fund to the Alaska energy efficient home grant fund 13
(AS 18.56.410) for grants under AS 18.56.410 by the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation. 14
* Sec. 5. FUEL PURCHASE ASSISTANCE. (a) The sum of $5,500,000 is appropriated 15
from the general fund to the bulk fuel revolving loan fund (AS 42.45.250(a)). 16
(b) The sum of $5,300,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the bulk fuel 17
bridge loan fund (AS 29.60.660(a)). 18
(c) The sum of $110,000 is appropriated from the bulk fuel bridge loan fund 19
(AS 29.60.660(a)) to the Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development 20
for operating costs for administering the bulk fuel bridge loan program for the fiscal year 21
ending June 30, 2009. 22
(d) Subject to sec. 11(b) of this Act, the sum of $20,000,000 is appropriated from the 23
general fund to the Alaska Energy Authority for a loan authorized under AS 44.83.080, to be 24
made on or before June 30, 2009, to the Alaska Village Electric Cooperative to purchase bulk 25
fuel for power generation. 26
(e) Amounts received by the Alaska Energy Authority repaying principal and interest 27
of a loan created under (d) of this section shall be deposited in the general fund. 28
* Sec. 6. FUND TRANSFER. (a) The sum of $50,000,000 is appropriated from the general 29
fund to the renewable energy grant fund (AS 42.45.045). 30
(b) It is the intent of the legislature that the appropriation made in (a) of this section 31
