TOUR AND MEETING ITINERARY (Updated 5/8/14)
1. Tour of Terror Lake Hydroelectric 9:00 am – noon
a. Van from Kodiak airport to float plane base 9:15 van departure
Vehicles will pick up committee members at the Best Western after departing from the
airport. Participants may meet at float plane base at 9:30 am.
b. Fly to Terror Lake Powerhouse 10:00 am
c. Tour of Terror Lake Hydro 10:15 – 11:30 am
d. Fly back to Kodiak 11:30 am – Noon
2. Lunch at Kodiak Electric board room Noon – 12:30
3. Wind & Battery Tour in Kodiak 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm
4. REFAC Meeting at Kodiak Electric board room 2:30 pm – 5:30 pm
5. Reception with buffet dinner (hosted by KEA, City, Borough) 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Depending upon weather and flights, the schedule is subject to change.

RSVP
It is AEA’s understanding that all REFAC members plan to attend the Kodiak meeting. If plans
change, please contact Yolanda Inga or Sean Skaling at AEA (contact info below).
Once travel arrangements have been made, please let us know what day you will arrive and depart
Kodiak.
Also, if you have any dietary restrictions that we can accommodate, please let us know.
REFAC Member Travel Arrangements
REFAC members are responsible for arranging their own travel to and from Kodiak. Many members
may find it helpful or necessary to spend either the night before or the night after in Kodiak. Eligible
travel expenses of REFAC members will be reimbursed.
Float Plane Arrangements
AEA has arranged for the float plane trip from the City of Kodiak to Terror Lake hydroelectric facility
through Andrew Airways aboard two de Havilland Beavers. We reserved one seat for each REFAC
member. Please contact Yolanda Inga at AEA if you do not plan to fly in to Terror Lake. Thanks to
Kodiak Electric for splitting the cost of the flight with us.
Ground Transportation
AEA will provide transportation at 9:15 am from the Kodiak airport to Andrew Airways float plane
base at Trident Basin (5-6 mile drive). If you will be arriving the day before (May 12), please meet at
Trident Basin float plane dock at 9:30 am, or contact Yolanda to arrange a pick-up at your hotel.
Following the float plane trip, AEA will provide transportation during the wind and battery tour and
back to the City of Kodiak for the meeting and reception. Following the reception, transportation will
be on your own to your hotel and/or airport. Local cabs are available.
Luggage
Any extra bags may be stored in the vehicles during the tours, and moved in to the meeting room in the
afternoon.
Dress
Please dress appropriately for the remote site tours. We will be climbing in and out of float planes and
vans, so comfortable attire that can get dirty is appropriate. Waterproof boots will be needed to exit
and enter the float planes from the beach at the Terror Lake site. We will spend an hour or two
outdoors at the hydro and wind sites. Dress for the weather.

Lunch
A sandwich lunch will be provided by AEA following the tour portion of the day.
Evening Reception
An evening reception with a buffet dinner will be provided by Senator Gary Stevens, Representative
Alan Austerman, Kodiak Electric Association (Darron Scott), the City of Kodiak (Mayor Pat Branson),
and the Kodiak Island Borough (Mayor Jerrol Friend). A big thank you to all of them for welcoming
the REFAC group so warmly!
