04 * Section 1. The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section
05 to read:
06 LEGISLATIVE INTENT. It is the intent of the legislature that, each fiscal year for the
07 next 10 fiscal years, $50,000,000 be appropriated to the renewable energy grant fund for
08 projects recommended by the Alaska Energy Authority under AS 42.45.045.
09 * Sec. 2. AS 42.45.045(i) is amended to read:
10 (i) An advisory committee is established and consists of nine [SEVEN]
11 members, appointed as follows:
12 (1) five members shall be appointed by the governor to staggered
13 three-year terms, with one representative to be appointed from each of the following
14 groups:
01 (A) small Alaska rural electric utilities;
02 (B) large Alaska urban electric utilities;
03 (C) Alaska Native organizations;
04 (D) businesses or organizations engaged in the renewable
05 energy sector; and
06 (E) the Denali Commission established under P.L. 105-277, 42
07 U.S.C. 3121 note;
08 (2) two members [ONE MEMBER] of the house of representatives
09 shall be appointed by the speaker of the house of representatives; and
10 (3) two members [ONE MEMBER] of the senate shall be appointed
11 by the president of the senate.
12 * Sec. 3. Section 5, ch. 31, SLA 2008, is amended to read:
13 Sec. 5. AS 42.45.045 is repealed June 30, 2023 [2013].
14 * Sec. 4. This Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
